Default Question about STEERING STABALIZERS?

Just out of curiosity, do our trucks use "Steering Stabalizers"? It's been a while since i've been underneath my truck, but now that i think about it, i don't remember seeing one. On my last truck, i remember changing the stock one, with one made by Rancho...

I bought the dual steering stabilizer kit from Fabtech to go with the lift. People have told me if you are putting larger tires on it is a must.

Nope. Not with the rack & pinion steering.

So i guess my next question is this. Which is better? Is it better to have a steering stabilizier, or Rack and pinion steering?

I would have to say that steering "gear" like on a 2500 or 3500 with a steering stabilizer, would be the equivalent of a rack and pinion system. racks are more for on road vehicles, where the gears are for heavy duty/off roadapplications. Jeeps with solid front axles have always have a steering gear with stabilizer. The Ram's have only been a rach and pinion system since they went to IFS in 2002.

Interesting..So let me ask you, what about 1500's that are "Off Road equipped"? Do they still have the Rack/pinion or is that different altogether?
