Default a 6.1 hemi into a 2005 rumble bee

i just would like to know if it would be a dream or a reality? my brother owns a 2005 rumble bee. Our dad works as body man at the Dodge Dealer collision center, and he heard that a charger srt-8 has been totally crashed and tagged as total lost. The remain of the car is going throught the re-use and auction, and then to the car salvage place, My question is, would it be too hard of a project to swap the 5.7 to a 6.1 in the rumble bee, or beside a cpu swap, everything is gonna fit normally ? do they use the same engine mount, and are the block the same size, thx

This is a very possible swap. Not positive about engine mounts but I know it will bolt right up to the original 5.7 tranny...so I hear. Ask this question in the hemi section at dodgetruckworld.com There are some real knowledgable guys there that could answer your question. I also saw this swap done on I believe srtforums.com. It was a forum with primarily srt8's and some guy swapped his hemi for the 6.1.

honestly, unless you can get the 6.1 for like under $4k i wouldnt bother with it...instead I would do the 6.4L swap...go to moesperformance.com and look on there. for $2500 you can get everything you need to do the swap and you wont have to worry about getting ECU's or anything like that plus that extra money you save in doing it this way, you can spend it on getting more stuff for it (6.1L upper end, cam, etc...)

this is the route i'm going but waiting until i get my ramcharger up and running to be a daily driver

sounds pretty bad *** if you do it...but you might get more support through

www.rumblebee.org

if you do...pics are always a plus!!!

also...keep in mind the rumblebee has the sport package...so it sits on a lighter frame...

you could try contacting sharadon performance. I know they've dropped in a 6.1 hemi, but I think it was also bored or stroked to a 392. Their website is www.sharadonperformance.com . They should be able to fill you in on all the costs and extra stuff required for the swap.

which is also the exact same as doing the 6.4L build on the 5.7...392=6.4L andi would say that it would be cheaper to go about doing the build on the 5.7 rather than the 6.1
