What is the difference between the 2 chips. Is one just a newer version? I saw that the 3714 is only for the hemi and the 3715 is for a few different vehicles to include the 2003 hemi. I can get the 3714 for under 300 bucks. Anybody know if I would be missing out on anything if I went with the 3714???? Any help would be great.
Yes the 3714 superchip model only woks with the 2003 ram 5.9l. The 3715 works with the Ram 2003 5.7l, 1998-2003 Ram, Dakota, Durango 3.9, 5.2, 5.9, 1999-2003 Ram, Dakota, Durango 4.7l, and the grand cherokee 1999-2003 4.7.
The 3714 will not work with any dakota. I bought it for mine and it didnt work.
I have the 3714 on my 03 hemi and the difference between it and the 3715 is basically the trans adjustments the 3715 has it , the 3714 doesn't. Hope I answered your question.
The difference is big enough to warrant buying the 3714 if thats all you can findas you can always get rid of it if you decide too upgrade. Doesn't help with fuel mileage, but in tow/91 mode it it will run low 14s with no other upgrades.
and yes I am speaking of shift points as well as shift firmness. I opted for the 3714 because I did the internal upgrades too my tranny with the transgo kits.
I got ahold of a 3714 and talked to superchips and they reasured me that there is no difference between the two. The only difference is that the 3715 is for multiple models of truck and the 3714 is only for the 2003 Hemi.
