I have a 03 ram single cab with 3.7 v6 and his 73K and it still runs like a champ the only thing i had go bad on me was a Fan Clutch witch was $40 and a easy fix

 

I always need a truck to haul my stuff around every time I get rid of them I end up getting anoughter Truck soon after so Now I just buy Trucks.

IF the 3.7 was better MPG it would not be so bad but live and learn never again V-6 in a full size truck From now on I get the big motor after having a V-6 they dont get that much better MPG than a stock V-8 truck.

Now if you mod it there go's the MPG like my last truck.

 

i agree i would never buy a full size truck ever agian with a v6 full sizes need v8 its less strain on the engine but for a first truck not bad

 

My engine is wondurfull. But the Auto trans SUCKS in the '07 Ram!!!! Has been to the stealership for warranty repair twice, the first time they replaced the tq. converter, the second time they pritty much told me I was stupid. (But in a nice legal way) The truck still shifts like crap, and it will be the LAST new Dodge anything I will ever own. I am 31 years old, grew up on a farm driving pickups, and have a class A CDL, I think I know how a truck is supposed to shift like! I am trully a Ford man at heart. And as much as I hate to say it in here, if I were you, I would not even think about geting anything else but a ford. HOWEVER, I do think the Dodge is far better quality than the Chevy! I have owned 5 chevy's, and they ALL sucked!

I dont think anyone has really said yes you can get 180k out of the dodge v6. I know you dont plan on getting a new 09 or you wouldnt be shoping in the 03 v6(5-7k range). I'll say I havent seen anything glaring mentioned except the auto trans. That seems to be a problem aith all of the big 3.
. I'm considering going with 2wd manual trans to avoid and CAD 4wd or auto trans issues. My main concern is reliability.

 

So to hear about your tranny problems. That is exactly why I bought the getrag 6 speed stick.
