No turbo, but Kenne Bell is working on a supercharger for '04-'05 Rams.

What is it about the STS don't you like. I was looking at it last night and really didn't do much reading on that system, but it's the first time I've seen a turbo that far back in the exhaust. I'm not sure what to think at this point.

Ya.. same here. No extra heat under the hood, no redoing the headers, no relocating wires, plumbing. Turbo lag is no existant now days, like everyone seems to think. And as for the air filter mounted down below the box, like they say, porshe does the same thing, and you dont read anything about them sucking in water and locking up. "Both the new turbocharged Vette systems and the new Porsche systems sit the turbo down low and exposed to water and anything else that goes under a car. " But to each his own. I think itd cost alot more to put one under the hood, then run the STS one.

under hood kits look better cosmetically, and they are a lot more efficient, but they are more expensive. You are jimited in the size of the turbo when its underneath.

Like i said. i want to make a kit for the hemi, ive made custom kits before.

i think that superchargers are way better. they last longer and theyre not as hard on the motor. turbos are using hot air also, superchargers dont. i personally wouldnt do a turbo. superchargers also give u added horsepower all the time, turbos only give it to you when you get to a certain rpm

first off, superchargers are way harder on the motor. Simply because it takes power to make power, the motor has to spin the added stress of the blower to get it to make power. PLUS you have the extra tension on the crank for the belt which in time hammers out the bearings, we all know how tight u have to make them so they dont slip. Your right turbos use hot air, air your motor makes anyways hence it only makes power, it dont need power to make power. plus the hot air only spins the wheel to suck in COLD air from the atmoshpere. The intake temp on a roots/srew blower is much higher than a turbo charger or even a centrifigal supercharger for that matter because is bolted directly on top of the motor. Another thing SUPERCHARGERS work off of rpm, they hit maximum boost at the revlimit, but as soon as u change gears it looses peak boost simply because the rpm's are not high enough. A turbo however, once it reaches peak boost, its there the whole time. I think what you were refering to is turbo lag. With the turbo's that are available today, turbo lag is non existant as long as u have the right sized ball bearing unit with the correct plumbing
