spare tire issue
I just dropped my spare for the first time. I was rotating the tires myself and used it because I only had one jack. When I got it down I found that it had indentations or rub marks on the sidewall of the tire. It had been rubbing on the frame.
Will this tire be nothing more than a spare? I had plans to give it to my brother after I lifted my truck and run 35's. Will this thing ever run smooth or is it going to shake?
I was going to rotate the spare into the tire rotation in the future. Does anyone else do this? I plan on trying to find some rubber pieces to put above the spare so it does not happen again.
Has anyone else ever had this problem or is it just a case in which everyone is going to read this and then go out and drop their spare?

it shouldn't be a problem cause i had to use mine to replace a blowout. as for the wear marks that is normal. idk about shimming our spare to avoid wear marks when stowed. that spare has to be pretty snug and if one of those rubber pieces fall out you'll have loose spare. not good. even if you do use some rubberin there you'll still may have the indentations. if you really want to put the rubber in there, then make it thin and wide as you can. if it only aesthetically bothers you, then just flip the tire over so the inboard side gets pinned against the frame when you stow it.
It should he the inside already against the frame, or it has been on every vehicle I have ever owned that stowed their spare underneath.
