I have a 2007 Ram 2500 with the auto-dimming rearview mirror. Is it supposed to be turned on every time I start the truck? I tried turning it off, but it comes on every time the truck is started. The manual just say you can turn it on or off by the switch. Is there some procedure to stop it from being turned on when the truck is started?

 

i dont know why would you want it off... i find it convinient..

 

Ditto that! My '03 didn't have one, the 300C does, and I missed it from my previous ride. Found one at a decent price and jumped on it. Love the way it works!

Anyway, it may be independently fused. Not sure 'bout that. Just unplug it. Isn't there a connector in the back of it? What else would you loose if you just unplug it?

 

I turn mine off everytime I start the truck. I hate the auto-dimming mirror, I can't see anything behind me at night!! Its really not too bad though, because you only have to remember to turn it off at night and the green light reminds you.

 

I don't have to worry about mine anymore as it will never activate with the cap and it being tinted limo dark.

 

Just unplug the harness from the back of the mirror and stuff it in the overhead if you dont like it. I love it and the feature where it automatically shuts off when the truck is in reverse leaves me feeling pretty good about the rear vision at night. To each their own... Have fun.
