Default Transmission Issues

I have a 2003 1500 Quad w/ 5.7. When shifting from Reverse to Drive I get a lungeing, not a smooth shift. Does anyone know what the problem might be? Thanks.

Is the idle around the 500-600 rpm range?
If it's a little high, you might get that effect?

Mine has a 3 second delay when i go from reverse to drive, then it catches and jerks ( wants to take off). It shifts gears fine. Rpm's are fine.
