Just purchased my 2006 Ram 1500 4X2 Q-cab 3.7l a couple of months ago. Its basically an around town and to-from work truck. Don't haul a lot but I do drive some roads that have long continuous inclines and i really hate watching the speed drop and the engine jump to 5k rpm. This is my only regret so far with the 3.7l. Looking into the jet chip stage 1....

What gears does your truck have? Seems like a lot have the 3.21's which are way to high for the v6. I have the 3.55's with a regular cab and they are decent but once I got my 20's I wish I had 3.96's. Check out the powerwire too I have it and it's probably the best mod for the money except for maybe the liberty intake which I don't have so I'm not sure. There is a lot of info about all this stuff if you look around in here.

Is the guy who does the Powerwire back from Iraq? I was ready to buy one and it was out of stock.

To be honest I don't know exactly what my gear is. Purchased the truck "used" from a dealership but it only had 21k miles on it.... so i basically considered it a new truck. I will check the paperwork and see what gears it has.

Has anyone tried to trade your v6 recently? If so what did they offer you?
I did probably about 2 months ago and got offered $8500. Not bad, except that I owed $9000 on it at the time Decided to have patience and not get rid of it till it decides to break itself or start acting stupid. So far, no problems.

The best thing you can do is know what your truck is worth via KBB and NADA.
8500?? wow. i was hoping for around 10 to 12 thousand. Do you know if mods such as intake and exhaust, would raise or lower the trade in value?

Well, is yours an 03 or is it a newer year? Newer models are generally worth more, so yours might be worth around 10k. Mods...depends on the dealer. Our dealership doesn't pay much attention to mods at all, so they mean beans in terms of trading in here. If they were a specialty sport truck dealer or something, they might actually put some consideration into them, but they're not going to give you much anyway if they can't turn around and sell it for a few thousand (at least) in profit.

And like bchap said earlier, because you can get brand spanking new ones so cheap now, it hurts the trade value for those of us with older models. That and the fact that not many people want a full size truck with a V6 in it

Yes, he is back. You are looking for AIRRAM. Check out airram.com. He has some 3.7L stuff. Additionally, the SCT tuner is now available for 3.7Ls...
An easy (somewhat) way to gain performance is to put your truck on a diet! Dodge trucks are heavy...

Where and/or how do you get new gears? Because frankly im really tired of my stock gears revving the engine so high....

For gears, AIRRAM carries some, as do JEGS and Moe's performance. I think they all carry limited slip diffs also...
