Default Are Headlight & Tail Light Covers Illegal in California?

Does anyone have head or tail light covers on their truck? I really like the blacked out look but am curious to know how they affects visibility. Any feedback would be appreciated.

i think it would be considered illegal... most states claim almost any mod illegal... you have to have to make sure that all functions are still going to be fully functional and visable... i think you might be able to get some aftermarket black headlights or even paint your own (see mine)..... as far as taillights i tinted mine (dont have pics on here yet) and i think its considered illegal so i only tinted them slightly.... i also love the look of a blacked out truck so thats my ultimate goal.....
