Default air bags

Dodge says that they have the smart air bags in the new trucks does this mean that if my daughter is in the truck but does not weigh enough it will not go off ?? Most vehicles have a weight sensor in the seat and turns off the air bag when there is a small person in the front seat but a light usually goes on , on the dash to let you know . any thoughts ? it is an 07

Theoretically yes. that is how it is "supposed" to work. but there are a lot of different factors there. It says in the manual to put them in the back, and that is what i do. To me it is not worth the risk. I always put my daughter in the back, and usually anyone else under about 80 pds too.

i would much rather have a switch like my old ford. feel better that way.

it does say to put them in the back but what happens if you have a truck load of kids going to hockey ? Is it still safe and will the air bags deploy if you are in an accident ?
