Default interior lights

right, today i installed the clearance lights on my 03 quad cab, i run the wire to the plug on the right hand side A pillar which only powers up with the running lights but since doing this my interior lights wont go off. both the dome light and the map lights by the front screen stay on all the time even when locked, i did blow the fuse to the right hand side rear tail lights but have changed that fuse and the lights are still on,

any help would be great as at the moment i've had to remove all the bulbs from the lights to stop the battery going flat !

I assume clearance lights are grounded by their mount so you only had to run a + wire to them? That'd rule out any sort of a voltage "backfeed."

Also, have you tried disconnecting and reconnecting the battery? You may need to "reboot" the computer that controls the interior lighting. It's worth trying anyway!

hmm.... well somethings completing the circut... so its something to do with the switches/wiring.... its just soo confusing bc i have the complete opposite of a problem... I'm tryin to think what might have caused this.... have you checked all the wiring to make sure nothing is touching another wire or a ground......
