Default question regarding infinity stereo in 02 Ram 1500 QC

When I toy with the fade control on my stereo and turn the front on 100% I get sound from the dash speakers (It sounds like all treble) when I turn the rear on 100% I get sound from my front door speakers (Sounds like all bass) but I get no sound at all from the rear door speakers at any time.

Question number 1: Does this stereo naturally bypass treble and bass the way it sounds or was it messed with by a previous owner?

Question number two: I cannot figure out why my rear door speakers are not working. I opened the panels and they are there and wired in but no sound. Would they be controled by the fade controls of the stereo to play along with the front door speakers? And I have not yet found the factory amp would the speakers have seperate connections to the amp or whould they be connected with the front door speakers?

Thanks in advance for your assistance!

I just installed a new H/U and I am having this exact same issue...I know it's an old thread, but does anyone have an answer for this? When I fade the sound to the back speakers only, there is no sound coming from them...is this normal, like are the rear speakers set up with front fade control?

Thank you!

The infinity stereo system only allows bass signals to the 6x9's in the front doors and the 3 1/2" speakers in the dash are geared for almost all treble. It is set up for staging but as for the rear 6 1/2's they should play all frequencies bass and treble and the amp for the infinity sytem is located behind the passenger side air bag in the dash so a huge pain in the a$$ if you want to replace it our upgrade it and for the aftermarket head unit I heard that you have to run all new wire if you wnt tio use the onboard amp but not 100% there.

i had the *hitty infinity system in my truck when i got it and replaced all that CRAP with a mtx thunder 6000 componet system. had to run wires to the doors from my kenwood h/u but with some patience and cussing you cant see any wires whatsoever and it sounds friggin awesome. IMO the stock infinity amp is worthless, along with the stock cdplayer and stock speakers.

Well, I figured out that the rear speakers ARE in fact tied to the front when in comes to fading. When I have them balanced 50 front and 50 back, the rear speakers sound fine. I also had no troubles installing my new Pioneer H/U, I was able to use the Metra Harness and use the factory amp. I actually think it sounds way better than stock...

My original Infinity CD Changer ate itself to death with my CD's inside...it was cool and sad all at once.
