you can get gasket material form any auto parts store and cut your own, but the easiest way to do it is rtv sealant, gasket material in a tube. just thick bead.works great, just let it set up before you put the fluid in the diff. there is a diy post on it in that section.

RTV is OK, but if you want it to stay sealed, I'd go with Permatex The Right Stuff. Napa carries it. Much better than RTV.

If you're interested in a gasket, here's a FelPro version I've used:

FEL-PRO Part # RDS55073Rear Axle; (12-bolt holes); Chrysler 9.25" R.G.

I get mine from Rockauto.com. I prefer the gasket, to RTV since there's no scraping on take-off and no waiting for the RTV to setup before adding the diff oil. Directions say wait 2 hours. Of course the new Permatex "Right-Stuff" fixes the wait problem since assembly can be immediate. However, take-off is still harder than with a gasket.

I did axel fluid changes on our 04" 2500 ram and the pumpkin gaskets were reuseable. No problem. I had the permatex rtv sealant also. Now I have 2 tubes on hand. No leaks no problems.
