well, i am getting 14 mpg too, and i think its pretty good for a 4x4, although you are not supposed to use platinum plugs in the hemi, if you got a 4.7, i dunno

I had '98 & '02 Grand Cherokee's both with the 4.0L I6 that loved Bosch Platinums. Mileage went up at least 2 mpg's after switching to them with no other changes. But all reports I've read on the Hemi with them have not been favorable at all.

Platinums are a no no. Use regular copper plugs. And I prefer Ngk's.

its funny to say you cant use platinum plugs i had mine changed changed at my wifes dad's shop and he had to get some from a dealer and they sent platinum plugs for my truck that where the same number as stock plugs. i had always heard that from everyone and was weird to me that the dealer sent them to me. as far as 14 mpg i would love it i get about 10 with mine for some reason dont really lead foot it just cant seem to get my mpg any higher

Well having been in the business forover 30years and being an ASE Certified Master Technician for most of thoseI dont recommend platinum plugs unless your manufactorer specifies them. The reason why is that they are a colder running plug and NOT designed for engines requiring a hotter spark like most of our trucks. I pull them out of vehicles people bring to me for running problems all the time and replace them with factory stock and their problems usually go away.

Most of the time Platinums will run fine for a while, maybe a couple of months and then your problems will start. Most consumers hear the word "platinum" and think they are getting some new gadget that will make there car run faster or get better performance, but that is simply not the case. I have found that most parts stores keep platinums in stock now a days, while having to order the standard plugs that are called for if they can get them at all. They are all to quick to sell these more expensive plugs to you and give you a line about them being better for your engine when that s simply not true, espically if you have an engine with a few miles on it. Save your money as you are going to end up wasting it if you purchase platinums, double platinums, iridiumsor whatever new fangled plug is just hitting the market with claims of being better for your engine.

Stick with the stock plugs, you cant go wrong!

Wow, what a range of responses! I heard (read) that the platinums run hotter, causing problems. The Bosch lose ground conductors into the combustion chamber (?!). I put NGK 5306s in mine. They helped immediately with mid-range throttle response and mileage. I do know one thing: I've never bought a good Champion plug.
