The only way I think you can get the tires to fit without buying a wheel with the proper backspacing/offset is to look into wheel spacers for your existing wheels.
Yes. I have that size Nitto Terra Grappler on my truck now with the stock 20's. If it were ANY wider it would rub. There's about 1/4in clearance on the side of the tire.
I believe there is a way to adjust the maximum travel of the wheels in each direction. You will lose some turning radius but you can fit bigger tires that way.
All i know is that the stock good years. Have lasted long enough, happy about longevity. But they are the worst tires i have ever owned. they slip and slide like crazy in any wet conditions.
The clearance issue on the 07 is the spacing on the 20's on the backside of the tire and the upper control arm by the shock tower. You have less than 1/2 inch to play with. The stock 20 has 4.5 back spacing and a +20 offset. You can run a 285 tire and maybe a 305 but anything after that you'll have to go to a new rim with a 0 offset or a -12.
And even more complex...I spoke to 4 wheel parts about switching out the Rancho Quicklift for a normal leveling kit because I am not happy with the amount of nose dive that the truck still has. The sales guy spoke with the "tech" in the shop and he said that all of the 06-07's have a little nose dive even with the other more conventional leveling kits. Is this true??
I should have just done the 6" lift with 35's from the beginning!! ugh!
