2002 want start!
Just replace my motor in my 2002 ram truck by the way it was 1,500 dollars way to much, But the problem is i put every thing back the way it's suppose to be but it want start it just turns over and spit back like the timing is off. Goin to call 2mar because i paid that much for a motor it should just crank up. Was wondering if its something simple icould do anybody had this problem.
Not to be an *** but, did you put the fuse back in for the fuel pump? When I replaced the motor in my 01 Durango, tried to fire it up, turned over but wouldn't fire. Left for the day, came back in the morning, looked it over and realized one of the first steps of pulling the engine was to pull the fuel pump fuse and I never replaced it. Put it in and it fired right up...... dumbass mistake on my part. Just a thought.
Start with the basics, fuel, air, spark. look for any codes thrown on the ecm. Are the plug wires on in the right order. I know it sounds really simple, but double check your work---make sure you didn't get the firing order backwards or anything like that. Simple stuff first!!
First... I'd check the muffler bearings and your directional fluids...
... and right after.. follow thier advice.. double and triple check the basics... IF you did it the right way it would start... But it does'nt.. so therefore sumthings wrong... good luck..

First of all, $1,500 is pretty cheap if it was a reman engine. Second, it's not the seller's fault that you goofed the install. Unless he rebuilt the engine, it's something you did. Like the otehr guys said, check the basics. It sounds like you've got spark, fuel and compression. It also sounds like either the distributor is way off (possibly 180 out), the firing order is wrong, or the firing order is right, but backwards. The rotor should be pointing to the front of the truck when #1 is on TDC of the compression stroke. Firing order is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2, clockwise. (assuming it's a V-8) Can't remember the 3.9l order off the top of my head, but if that's what you've got, just google it.
