Default 04 dodge ram heater switch problem

I have a 2004 Dodge Ram qclb and I cannot get the front defroster to work. I turn the selector switch to it by itself, or the mix with the feet but it still blows no air to my windshield. Is this the switch, or how exactly does it work in my dash to reposition where the air goes? Thank you

If it is a mode door, you will have to remove the entire dash. You will also probably have to discharge your AC system so you can remove the box that contains the doors and heater core as I think that's where the doors are in, but I'm not sure. It's tons of fun. Aside from the AC discharge/refill, plan to spend a good half day doing this. That's how long it took me when I replaced my heater core.
