Default changing rotors

Hey Folks,

I just purchased rear rotors for my 2003 1500 Quad Cab. The original manufacture rotor has a greyish paint covering all over. Does anyone know if I am supposed to remove this paint on the disk surface? (how?) or will normal use remove it for me?

Thanks!

The disk surfaces should be clean and grease/oil free before you drop the new (I'm assuming) pads on.
I would use an 80 grit sandpaper to clean'em off. Wipe them down with brake cleaner and a clean shop towel, then drop the caliper on.
