I Have an annoying belt squeel.on both a 2000 & 2003 dodge rams 2000 with 318 and the 2003 with hemi.The belt gets glazed on the back after about 10000 kms and then starts squeeling. The problem seems to be the fan belt pulley.It runs a bit hotter from the slipping.I have changed the tensionser and this has not helped.
I wonder if anyone has had a similar problem and has a fix for this.

 

Tried belt dressing? How cold is it where you live?

 

I Live in London Ont. Canada,and I have tried dressing but only lasted for about a couple of days.

 

Simple candle wax usually works pretty good for me when belt dressing doesn't seem to last.

 

or you could use the trick most shade tree mech's use. . .the ol bar of soap
