Bumping noise from under truck
Hey guys, I have a 2004 dodge ram, 2 door, short bed. Recently its been making a bumping noise, as if there was a board rolling around in the bed, but its coming from under the truck. It usually only does it whenever i go over bumps slow. Has anyone ever heard of anything like this or any ideas because iv crawled underneath and see nothing loose at all.
stick or auto?? If it's a stick, it's relatively normal due to gear lash in the rearend. If auto, it's probably a u-joint going bad, although I'd check all your u-bolts to make sure their tight.
The dealer just replaced a swaybar endlink on mine and the noise is gone. I looked for something loose under the truck but didn't see anything either. According to the service guy, it's a common problem.

Check the spare tire. It may be loose.

Ok lets see
1. my truck is an automatic and the U Joints feel really tight. The truck only has 49,000 miles.
2. I have no spare tire i took it out
I believe it could be the swaybar endlink ora bed mount somewhere may be loose, I probibly will end up taking it to the dodge place tommorow, butI have noticed it seems the sound comes more from when the truck kind of flexes over a bump. How exactly would I check the swaybar endlink?
Thanks for all the replies so soon too guys.

I honestly don't know what to look for on the swaybar link because the dealer diagnosed and fixed it. They said it's common tho so maybe if you call your dealer they can tell you what to look for.
