looking for a lift
Hey ya'll I'm new here!duh! I got a 2004 dodge ram 1500, hemi, Slt, 4x4. looking to lift my truck. I've got tons of questions.hopefully you guys and girls can give me a hand with your insight.I'll start now.I want a 6" lift and Iwant to get 35"/37"tires on my20"wheels or an alternative 17"wheel combination.can this be done?this question has probably been asked a thousand times.if you could refer me to some good sights that would be great.if you have any Ideas on what to start with would be great to.thanks for your time.

I seriously wouldnt go over a 35" tire. Anything bigger will be harder than hell on that IFS. As for tires, i'd recommend dropping to a 17" rim. It will be easier and cheaper for tires. Off-road tires are harder to find in 20's. As far as clearance you won't have any problems, you could clear a 35 with a leveling kit, but would rub off road. A 4" lift would be pretty much ideal for offroading with a 35. For lift kits check out www.topguncustomz.com

If your going to do off roading then these fabtech, rancho mainstream lifts suck. They actually keep ur wheel travel the same or worsen it. Go for something like kore or Carli. Unless its a street queen then who cares. But the 6" lift isn't going to lift it a full six inches maybe 5 to 5 1/2. Also like Hanson said the 20" tires a really expensive at least $250+.
