Default Rebuild anti-spin?

So I had my truck out in the snow today. Some ******* cut me off, and I locked up my brakes putting my truck sideways into the ditch. I noticed that only one back tire would spin, and the drivers side tire would NOT start spinning even though the left was losing its grip. I ended up putting the truck into 4x4 to get it out. Does this indicate that my clutch pack in my anti spin differential is gone? How much is it to get rebuilt, or is there a better aftermarket solution? [price?]

Next time this happens, try putting your brakes on just a little and gently, apply the gas.
This I believe, will allow the clutch packs in the LSD to sense where the torque is going and apply traction correctly.
It's an old offroading trick I believe.
I did know why it works, but for the life of me, I've now forgotten.
Hope this helps?
Al.

I've seen numberous instances where even with a limited slip dif, if there's pretty much 0 traction on the one side the other doesn't seem to engage. It doesn't make any sense, but as abarmby stated, an old offroader's trick is to apply the brakes until the other side finally grabs.
