Those look pretty mild and worth saving the paint, keep em'. At first I thought I was going to see the illegal allien version, huge with screw down mailbox reflectors or the ol' supertrucker peterbuilt flaps with chromies ha ha ha. Hell, I'm looking to install some my self.
i dont have mud flaps, ther are some chips, etc on front not too bad, but the rear..good lord. It has chips/dents/dings all over the lower rocker panel and road tar stuck to it from road construction..
well, i say go muddin a few more times, and youll have your answer, i do hope thats all that falls off though. if off roading is important, i would nix em.
a i got a bad *** 07 raptor 700se up for sale it bad *** an in mint c/d have about 1200$ into it...i took my mud flaps off i think it looks good just look out for road tar
for those of you not running mudflaps is there a lot of damage around that area?
A little late, but I wanted to chime in on this one. I purchased my 2007 Dodge Ram 2500 on April of 07. I live in Colorado and they started to put rocks on the roads towards the end of November. I didn't want mud flaps on because the truck looked cleaner. However, towards the end of December when we had some nice weather, I decided to clean my truck. When I looked at the rear lower panel just behind the rear tires; the panel just above the stock exhaust (whats this called?), it looked as if it were sand blasted. I have about a dozen chips where it chipped away my blue paint, but you can see white. There are two places where you can actually see metal (one almost 2mm in length). That area is no longer smooth either.
The rocker panel isn't as bad with only 1 to 2 rock chips that I've seen on each side. Needless to say, I went out and got me a set of mud flaps and touch up paint that day. I wish I did this sooner.
