Your trucks front axle is solid, you however, are flaky as hell.

And yes, the CTD weighs down a front end really bad. Not the best choice for an off-road vehicle. That's why the Power Wagon has a Hemi. I've pulled a couple diesels out of the mud up in Ga. that I had no problem going through (mostly Fords though). They are really a hinderance down here in Fl. on the sand, it doesn't take much to sink that heavy front and when you do, it's hell to get out.
That's about the only situation a Hemi has a CTD beat is certain off road conditions besides the price. In just about every other use, the CTD beats the Hemi, hands down...
