Default sub install

Got my sub box. Bought it from Speakle. Very nice. Now I have a question. I want to use the factory radio. does anyone know the color code of the rear speakers so that I can splice a line converter and run rca's to the amp for the sub box? Also does the radio have a remote power wire or should i go into the cigarette lighter? If any one knows please let me know as I want to install tomorrow.

Hey Jimmy, I just came in from the garage doing this install. i have a 08 QC with the factory radio. For the remote wire you will want the pink with a yellow wire coming from the cigarette lighter (not the power outlet). When the ignition is on or in the run position the amp powers up. Another note DON'T USE the rear speaker wires to wire the line out converter tap into the fronts. I actually used a LOC that has two sets of rca's so i could use one set for the front and one for the rear channel. Another reason I did this so when my 15 month old daughter is in the car I can use the fader to turn the subs off by fading to the front. The reason I say don't use the rears is the signal being sent to the rears is not full range, there is almost no bass signal being sent to them. When I took my rcs's and used them on the fron the bass was twice as loud and strong at the same volume and gain settings. I ended up wiring my subs to the front and installing a switch on the remote wire so that I can just turn the sub amp off when I put her back in the car seat.

wiring colors:

LF Speaker +: Dark Green/Yellow
LF Speaker -: Dark Green/Light Blue
RF Speaker +: Gray/yellow
RF Speaker -: Gray/Light Blue
LR Speaker +: Gray/Light Green
LR Speaker -: Gray/Dark Green
RR Speaker +: Dark Green/Light Green
RR Speaker -: Dark Green/Gray

Hope this helps, Keith
