Default Performance Questions

Hey guys,

First I'd like to say In the 2 days I've been on this forum, I've learned some pretty cool stuff about Dodge's and am glad to see so many Dodge fans helping the new guys out.

My first two trucks were a '89 F-150 and a '98 Silverado. You can see why I've only owned 3 trucks . Both of them were workhorses and just mainly used for getting me back and forth to work (I work on oil rigs). The trucks would sit in a parking lot and get the crap knocked out of them by people who weren't paying attention to what they were doing, or scratched because they parked too close to you. I work overseas now, so my truck doesn't have to sit in a parking lot with 5,000 other beat up trucks. So I finally decided to buy myself a truck I can play in, and make it look pretty.

Well I'm pretty new to tinkering with engine performance and trying to get that extra bit of horsepower out of your truck. What I'd like to know is where can a beginner start and not feel frustrated and out of his league? I'm not interested in playing with the exterior anymore. It has enough jewelry (hood scoop, chrome everything) on it already and anything else would be downright gaudy.

Any advice is most welcome. Sorry to be so long winded.

SM

Default RE: Performance Questions

By far, the most often asked question. I'll save you from doing a search.
Cat back exhaust, CAI & Tuner in that order...
