Default First oil change.

Since I've owned it anyway. Can't believe I've put almost 2K on it since 11/3/07.

A couple hunded early for the 51K change but since we're going to do over 1,000 round trip to Charleston, SC and back decided to go ahead and do it.

Went with Mobil 1 Truck & SUV 5W-30 and the Bosch 3402 filter. I was amused it takes the same filter as my wife's Audi.

The drain plug is positioned just perfectly for you to bang your knuckles on that cross member back there.

The plastic piece to catch drip from taking the filter off is a nice touch. I always wanted something like that for my Cobra which had the filter roughly in the same place and would drip all over the steering rack.I always rigged up a small funnel to catch most of it.

I've never seen such a contraption at the filler though. Under the cap is this plug dohickey you have to get outof the way to pour the oil in. I'm glad I was up on the bumper and looking down into the filler neck to see it otherwise I might not have known it was there until I had fresh oil running everywhere.

Yeah I change oil lots... it's my job haha. And these rams are a beaut to change oil in. To avoid smashing your knuckles just use a wrench to snipe the ratchet... very helpful and pain free. Of all the trucks I work one (DOdge, Chev, Ford, Toyota, Nissan) Dodge is easily the best designed with the exception of running the exhaust pipe around the transfercase, bit of a pain to get the plug but such is life. Glad you enjoyed your oil change... and if you didn't then go do a Titan... then you'll beg for a Dodge haha
