How do I change light bulbs?
2005 Ram, Can not change the lights have spent over a hour trying to figure it out. really frusterating. Walmart has a sign in there little service center that says $4.50 per bulb labor. (I was pricing tires). I ma about to drop $9.00 and let them deal with it. the problem is I hate other people touching my truck, I think I would rather they touch my wife.
Believe me dude, it's not easy at all. I wanted to change mine myself, but ended up taking it to a dealership to have it done.
I know, I know, it's a light bulb, but the way they designed the truck makes it difficult to do...Pay the guy the 9.00 and let me do it believe me you won't regret it..Better yet, take it to a dealership..Just my .02 worth.

passenger side is easy.. i think there 9007..simply pop your hood, stick your hand down by the passenger side light, unscrew the grey plastic thing, pull out and theres your bulb. Drivers side take out the fuse box by the battery, lift it up unscrew the little grey thing, pull out and switch bulbs. do the exact opposite to put it back together.
Passenger side is hardest side for me, I am pretty sure I can get teh drivers side, but with teh diesel I had removed the airbox. and even tried to remove teh whole headlight assembly. there was one screw on rubber shield, then two torx heads bolts near radiator, then I found one under the light assembly by the fender. could still not get the damn thing out.
If you're talking about the headlamp bulbs, they're a snap: It only takes a few minutes to take the entire assembly out. Two screws at the inboard ends of the headlamp assembly, then the bolt underneath the assembly. Once the assembly is loose, you can get to all the connectors easily. The first assembly took me about twenty minutes 'cause I was afraid I'd break something. Once I had the hang of it, the second one was less than five minutes. Use a towel or rag to protect the bumper cover when removing the bolt on the bottom.
Sorry, forgot the "push pins" Really, guys, this is a very easy project.
I couldn't get the diagram to copy. The seal is the rubber strip on the inboard end of the assembly. The push pin is above the top inboard screw. The outboard screw is under the assembly and a little hidden, but it's easily removed. The assembly is guided by the usual locator pins. I think there's one outboard at the top, and one inboard. It's raining cats & dogs tonight, or I'd take some pics. If you need some, let me know. I should be able to post some tomorrow.

This is why I always buy atleast a Haynes manual for every veheicle I've owned. Makes figuring these kinds of things out easier. It doesn't give real big details, but for general maitnence, dissasembly of every part of your truck (that I've seen atleast), and wiring diagrams, it's been worth the $15 I spent. Just my $0.02 to try and help ya'll out that like to do things yourself.

Just changed mine out. Benner's right. Though, I didn't have to remove the fuse box nor move it. I did it from underneath the bumper. Turn the retaining cap counter clockwise and they slide right out. The fogs are even easier.
