Default Check Engine Light and Exhaust...

My buddy recently bought a 2002 dodge ram 1500 with the 4.7 Liter V8.When he bought it he noticed an exhaust leak so he bought a flowmaster and i installed it for him. I didnt weld anything i just used clamps and hangers.. I have the same truck with the same flowmaster and ever since i put it on his truck the check engine light has been on. Mine has never come on. Any ideas anyone? I have heard dodge uses a specicific flowmaster is this true?

You need to find out what the code is first before jumping to conclusions. Many owners run 40 and 50 series FM without issue. I assume you have the muffler installed the right way (flow)?

Of course this assumes you did not mess with the cats.

Not sure if this works on 02s.
