Default Steering Rack

Well here we go with another problem. I've only put 9K miles on this P.O.S. and it has been one thing after another, now I have power steering fluid leaking. I took it in to get check out, I have a 12 month 12K warranty, well this isn't covered, because the warranty only covers the drive train. I called a shop and they wanted just over $500 to put a re-conditioned one in, I don't have the cash right now, so I'm going to try some Lucas oil stop leak....has anybody had any luck with this. Almost every vehicle that I have owned has been Dodge, I have never had this kind of problem with any of them. BTW it's a '03Ram 3.7, with 57K miles.

Have you tried any stop leak? May be worth a shot. And you can use Atf-4 back in there.

I called the dealership where I bought it, and talked to the salesman that sold it to me, he talked to the owner, and they told me to call after Christmas, they are going to see if the warranty company will go halves on it, so I got my fingers crossed for that.

Hmm, definately not normal for an '03 V6 Ram to have so many problems with such low miles. My 03 V6 Ram was flawless for the 50k I had it but I was the one and only owner. I wonder if the miles are correct? Not sure if they can roll back digital odometers as easy as the old style. Either way, seems like someone didn't take care of it or beat it early in its life.

I traded my Dakota in for this truck, it had 160K miles on it, the only thing major that went wrong with that truck was a injector went out. Other than that it was tune ups and fluid changes. That's why I'm so frustrated with this truck.

I have a friend who is a Dodge mechanic and he tells me time and time again that the 3.7L is far and away the most dependable gas engine in the Ram lineup. Very strange.

I must have got one of those "made on Friday or Monday" Truck. From reading past posts on these trucks, it sounds like some of the problems I'm having are common....I'm real happy with the looks of the trucks, but right now would I take it on a cross country trip....probably not.
