I have been checking out the electric tailgate locks lately and can find no info on where they are mounted when installed and how the wiring is routed to the cab. Do any of you guys have them? Is there a way to disconnect the wires if I need to take off my tailgate? Where does that thing mount and how does it lock? And of course, pics would be great. Thanks in advance.

 

Do a search on this, there are tons of info. I don't have one, I have the bully tailgate lock works with a key. All I know about the electric ones is they wire into your door locks, and it mounts inside your tailgate.

 

I've got the pop lock version and love it. runs from the driver side door to the tailgate. Yes it does come in two parts, the long one reach's my spare tire from the door, and the other from the spare to the tailgate. This makes it pretty simple to remove the tailgate. cost me about 60$ and well it was worth it. transfer it from my 04 ram to my 08 without a hassle.
