08 hemi, lower Horsepower???
do a search
and you will find that Dodge
originally boosted the 2003 5.7 V8 horsepower rating
by leaving off the power steering pump
and giving the engine a very unusual 'break-in'
where the piston rings got so hot they relaxed spring tension
and reduced friction
allegedly this was done so that the Chrysler advertisng department
could go forward with already prepared 'one hp per cubic inch' materials
that were made up before test program 5.7 V8s developed problems with the original
design camshaft bearings during durability trials in early 2001
and Dieter Zetsche made the expensive decision to delay the introduction of the 5.7
until 2003

ha get this, a buddy of mine has a 07 4.7 and he says he cant get over 13 MPG ever. So i thought it was weird and took it for a drive with him sitting passenger. So i look at the onboard computer and he said look see...13MPG, i pressed the reset button and it went to 17MPG. He was like "whats the reset button for?" He had no idea that the MPG was an average of all his MPG since he bought the truck
I have the 07 hemi and If I run it at 65 I do get around 20 to 21 mpg... This is all on cruise... In town if I am running 40 to 45 I get around 22 to 24 mpg.... That is not my avg... It is after I reset the mpg... Now I am doing a test, really babing the truck after filling up... I reset the mpg right after fill up and it started at 9mpg for some reason... It is at 13.5 right now... I have not reset it since that fill up, I will check the mpg after fill up... I hope it is better than the avg it is telling me now...
