Vents Blow half cold and half heat

When i turn on my vents for the heater, the driver side blows very cold air while the passenger blows warm air. The AC works great but this only happens when i want the heat on. Its 30 degrees outside and i have to duct tape the driver side vents. Any one have this problem or know if there is a quick fix i might be able to do?
