If I take one Ignition Wire off of the Distributer Cap how long before the check Engine Light comes on? The reason I ask is My light just came on with a Code of P0301 = misfire in Cylinder #1. I pulled the plug and it looked brand New, I followed it back to the Dis Cap and sure enough the Boot wasn't pushedall the way on..... I pushed itdown and it "clicked" I hadthe Dealer put new Heads on it 5000 ago. Can You drive 5000 miles with one Wire off before the light comes on? Thanks Glenn

 

Reset the PCM or clear it with a scanner (Autozone for free)and see if it comes back on. Wire probably just worked its way out if it wasn't seated to start with.
