Default After market sirius install using factory antenna

Thought I would post pics of my install with sirius. After my free year ran up I wanted to install another sirius radio cause the factory one sucks but wanted to use the factory antenna. Here how my install went. Any ?'s or feed back would be great. Thanx...

I had the aftermarket satellite radio installed for the same reason. When I had it done thought I was told they had to put a different antennae on because they couldn't hook it up to the factory one. Mine is an 07. Was they full of crap?

tboughton,

They are full of crap man.. That first pic is the factory end of the antenna and the cable I had made to use the factory antenna. It make a whole cleaner look and plus you dont have the stupid magnet antenna on your truck. If you or any one else needs that cable adapter to use the factory antenna email me and I'll give you the addy where I got it.....

Brady

no they weren't full of crap. yes you can do it but if you want to pay someone the labor it woudl take to pull something apart like that you'd probably just want to have the new antenna or do it yourself

Ben,

I did the whole install in less than a hour and the antenna cable cost 30 bucks. Not a big expense or labor thing at all. The added bonus of keeping your truck as factory as possible to me anyway is well worth the $30 and the hour of work....
