Should have got the 50 series then. 40 is the most aggressive FM muffler.

Jim,

Welcome to the Forum!

1. Give yourself some time and read the sticky at the top of the forum board: Most Commonly Discussed Topics.
2. Did you keep your old/original muffler?
3. Are you looking to sell the 40.

I just got talked out of a 40 for a 50 by the muffler shop due to the neighborhood that I live in. That and the time of day I go to work.

Good luck,

Matt

Ah man it's so funny how people react to that. I just love interior resonance! My truck is rediculous outside, and just as much inside. To me, it's like music to my ears. I don't have the 40 series, I have the 44. Both mufflers kick ***. Anyway, if you don't like that interior resonance you should really go with that 50 series muffler. You'll still have the tone inside the cab but not nearly as bad. The only sad thing is, is you will loose a lot of your outside tone.

Small seaside communities do not like their peacefulness disturbed. Motorcycles are FORBIDDEN! Even my in-laws place in New Hampshire, an over 55 Home Owners Associatioin, bans motorcycles for residents and guests from the property.

Oh well, that's the northeast.

Hey I have the same thing with my 40's, I know when my Mom comes to visit I have her ride up front because the "sound" is too much for her. But my daughter doesn't mind she's sleeping about 10 minutes into the ride. I'm sure you can make a sound/heat shield to put between the muffler and the floorboard/bed that should kill some of the noise.

AMEN to that! I was going to get the 44 until I heard about the Cherry Bomb Extreme. Everthing vibrates when I take off. I love it.
