Hi Guys,
You were so helpful and helping me decide on an exhaust, went with Magnaflow catback dual rear by the way, that now I am looking for some ideas on rims and tires. I was thinking about going with the Mickey Thompson Classic II rims and MTX radial tires. Does anyone have any pics of these installed on a stock truck, or can anyone comment on this combo? I am looking to go with a 17 X 9 rim with 4.5" backspacing, and a 33 X 12.5 X 17 tire. Also will this combo cause the rims to stick out past the wheel well? I will be getting a leveling kit in the future, but in the meantime I would like to go ahead with this combo. This is for a 2006
Thanks

I put Dick Cepek DC-1s on mine. Their 17x9 has a -12mm offset. The offsetand the extra width took the outsides of the tires about 1 1/2 inches beyond the fender in front and maybe 3/4 inch in the rear. With the wider tire, you may get a bit more than that. My tires are 265/70s

Today be your lucky day! I had the 33x12.5x17 Mickey Thompson MTX's mounted on Mickey Thompson Classic II wheels before I lifted it and went with Dick Cepek FCII 35's.
If you live in the north, you're gonna love that tire. Even though I lived inGa. while I had themI took a couple of trips north during the winter in the 2 years I had them on. Best tire in snow I've ever had and I lived in upstate NY till I was 25. The tread also did well on the muddy clay roads around the Ga. farm. I also sold them when I went with the lift and 35's with 28,000 miles on them and they still almost looked like new. I would have bought them again if they made 'em bigger than 33's. But I gotta admit, I really like my FCIIs now though.
The pic is fuzzy and doesn't do them justice, but I'm at work and it's the only one I have on my laptop. But you can see the wheels and how the tires fill out a stock tire well...

Thanks Hammer, that combo looks pretty good. Did you have a leveling kit on at the time of that pic or is that stock? Any problems with rubbing or anything?

You don't heara lot about those MTX tires, but I had a good fishin'/hunting/ATV buddy in GA. whose father owns two tire & auto shops on opposite ends of the same town. He recommended them because of the trips I was taking at the time from GA. to central Fl. (340 miles each way) as often as bi-monthly. They wore great on the highway and still had some decent bite off road. I wouldn't exactly go boggin' with them, but for around the farm & on muddy country red clay roads they were surprisingly efficient. And like I said earlier, they were great on two trips up north in snow...

Just to let you know Mudder tires and soft sand is a big no no they are made to dig down thurthe mud toget to the harder packed ground, Thats very bad in Deep soft sand if you get on them to hard they just will dig you a grave I hope you take a tow strap with you you goning to need it ATZ are a very good Sand tire good on the HWYyou get about 40000 to 50000 out a set of M/T ATZ if you keep them aired up keep them rotated them and don't abuse them to bad.
I take it you ride you should Know a good set of tire will make or break you the right setup is key.

I was actuallt talking desert terrain as in hard dirt and rocks and maybe some sand. For some reason i think im thinking of a different tire. Is this it? http://www.mickeythompsontires.com/t...=BajaRadialMTXbecuase they don't look like mudders.
