Leveling Kit???
somebody mentioned to me that i could put a leveling kit on my truck to bring up the front end. my brother said that if you use a cheapo that just puts a wedge in the springs you could have problems at high speeds because the shocks and springs will already be maxed out and not able to compensate for say a bump.
what is the true deal here. i would like to have it level, i just don't love the stance it has now, and i think it would look really tough level. i definately don't want to drop the rear down to achieve this so IS there a leveling kit and where can i find one and is it dangerous? help.
btw, it is an '07 ram 1500 quad cab 2wd, 4.7 v-8

As far as I know, the only option you have with the 1500, is to get taller springs, because the 1500 4x4 has IFS, and most kits use new torsion keys to raise the front end. I know thats what I have to do on my 04 atleast.
'02-'04 4x4s have torsion bars and can be leveled with a simple crank or two on the torsion bolts. New keys built specifically to level the truck may also be used.
'06+ trucks utilize a coil over front suspension for a smoother ride on the highway. To level these, coil spacersare used. This is a relatively cheap, widely available method, some require new, taller shocks, some don't. Some require a specialized tool to compress the coil spring, some don't. Utilizing a name brand component with a quality reputation may stiffen the ride up front, but will in no way cause problems at high speed...
