Default Sirius and Dodge Factory Radio

This may be a dumb question, but when listening to Sirius Radio, is there any type of "info" button that will allow you to see the artist name and song title? I had XM in my 05 Duramax and it displayedtons ofinformation. I checked the owners manual for my new 07 Ram QC, but it didn't answer my question. Just wondering if I'm missing something.

Nope, if you have the basic cd player with Aux jack, all you'll be able to see is the channel number. The next level up on the radio shows the info, but not the basic CD player... And yes, it pissed me off too when I learned that!

Thank you, you just saved me reading through the manual to see if I could find this info. I have same radio with Infinity speakers. What would it take to install the better radio?

It would take you rewiring every speaker in the truck most likely, because the infinity system has a factory amp, which will not be used with an aftermarket head unit. This is a fairly popular subject on these forums....

What about just the better Dodge radio with Nav, DVD, etc. Would that be compatiable with what is in the truck?

I had the same prob dealing with the cheaper factory model. I waited until the free year ran out and then installed a PNP sirius radio. I used the aux port, hardwired the power into the cig lighter, and used the factory antenna so I didn't have that magnet antenna. You can also go on ebay and buy the next radio up. 6 Disk player with sat is running around 200 bucks from what I've seen.

Sportster 4 I see. Hope you have better luck with yours than I had with mine. I had 3 that crapped out on my all within a year in my work vehicle. I finally went back to using my old Xact Visor.

So if I was to get the next radio up it would be a direct swap?

They all pretty much did the same thing. They would start out not beign able to aquire the signal. Then they would turn on and off sporadically. I would change channels with my presets and the units would turn off. Then one day they just never turned on. Being that I had them in a vehicle that work gives me I couldn't hard wire the FM modulator. The wireless FM transmitter SUCKS. So I'm kind of happy to be using my old Visor. It's reliable (had it for 3 years and no problems) and the FM transmitter is super strong (built before the FCC crackdown).
