How much wiring is involved - if it actually frees up HP and gives a little boost in the mpg dept. I might have to do this.

You have to ground it, then connect a hot wire to the fuse box...

This could be in the future for me also. Anyone know if the one from Moes would fit my 5.9 without taking the shroud out? Does it come with pretty detailed instructions? As long as I have fairly good instructions I am confident with doing my own install.

Jay if you go to Moes and find the Efan there is a link next to the photo where you can view/download the instructions - looked detailed

The directions SUCK. Still, it'll go in without too much aggravation. The wiring instructions are very good, but the actual installation information is detailed only if you have a 5.0L Mustang. The wiring is a bit more than a ground and a hot, but the wiring diagrams and text are very good. A 180 t-stat is not necessary, but the cooler the motor is, the healthier it is (up to a point -- you still have to burn the water and contaminants out of the oil). I set my fan to come on at the old "normal" on the gauge. The new "normal" is a hair over 1/4 on the gauge.

The instructions for wiring are very good, the mounting is left pretty up in to the installer. From what I recall from mine, it basically said to use the supplied brackets etc, but never mentioned any concrete mounting plan.

I installed the Dodge Viper fan on mine - installed into the existign shroud so no relocation of the overflow and wiper tank - also allows a quick return to stock. I use the DC Control FK-60 controller - works great!

Took3-4 hours to install. Only about an hour to install the fan itself - the rest was the wiring - I wanted to make sure the fan controller was mounted securely and out of the way (from water and crap) as well as do a really nice job on all wiring.
