Just bought an Atlantic Blue 05 Ram 1500 4.7L Quad Cab a couple months ago. Been a guest around this site for quite awhile now trying to gather possible future upgrade ideas for my truck. I think first thing in line is my sound system.
Have already bought my box, went with this from caraudiofactory.com (picture from website not in MY truck):
Name: DSC05492.jpg

Size: 102.8 KB
Also got my subs already, got 2-10" Audiobahn DUB1000 subs.

Love the look of these speakers, here's the specs on them:
# Sensitivity: 91.1 dB
# RMS Power Range : 600 Watts
# Peak Power Handling: 1000 Watts
# Impedance: Dual 4 Ohm
# Low Frequency response: 23 Hz
# High Frequency Response: 500 Hz
# Diameter: 10 Inch
# PHAT 2" Foam Surround
# Non-Pressed, Non-Transfer Paper Cone
# KM3 Coated for Virtually No Cone Distortion
# Dual 4 Ohm
# 2 or 8 Ohm Operation
# Multi-connect Lug Lock Terminals
# Includes Chrome-Plated Cast Aluminum Grille
# Magent Weight: 120 oz
# Voice Coil: 2.5" Dual 4 Ohm
# Operation: 2 or 8 Ohm
# Mounting Depth: 5"
# Hide Cutout: 9 1/4"
# Outer Diameter: 10 7/8"

I think I'm going to go with the Audiobahn A2300HCT amp:

The specs:
# RMS Power Range : 1200x2 Watts
# Number Of Channels: 2
# Maximum Power: 2400 Watts
# Low Frequency response: 10 Hz
# High Frequency Response: 40000 Hz

# Variable Subsonic Filter : 20Hz to 45Hz
# Variable Bass Boost : 0 - 18 dB
# Variable Bass Boost Frequency : 40Hz - 100Hz
# RCA Throughput Connections
# 4-way Protection Circuitry : Thermal, Short Circuit, Overload, and DC Offset
# Dual Cooling Fans
# VU Meters in dicating Outpit Response
# Cobalt Blue Illumination
# High Gloss Chrome Plated Finish
# 4 Ohms Stereo : 300 x 2
# 2 Ohms Stereo : 600 x 2
# 1 Ohms Stereo : 1200 x 2
# 4 Ohms Mono : 600 x 1
# 2 Ohms Mono : 1200 x 1
# 1 Ohms Mono : 2400 x 1
# Dimension(H x W x D) : 3 11/16" x 12" x 25 9/16"

For the head unit I think I'm going to go with the Pioneer DEH-7900BT

After that, I'll get into replacing the component speakers and updating the big 3 and adding a capacitor or 2 to the system.
But, I've already reached my first bump in the road with this project. The subs I've chosen are a large magnet sub and don't fit completely down into the enclosure. But from my researching on here it seems I may be able to add some speaker rings to the enclosure to make this possible without sacrificing sound quality, but maybe actually increasing the quality with the added air space in the box. But upon using the speaker rings, I'm going to need to raise my back seat so it can fold down without muffling the subs. From my looking around it seems I may be able to just put some washers under the back seat brackets and raise it up with no problem. Wondering if anyone could verify this for me. Sorry for the length of the post, just excited about getting to upgrade the sound system of my truck. Thanks for listening and any advice given!

Thank you sir. Once the sound is complete it should sounds INCREDIBLE! I think when I get to the install I am going to sound deaden the entire cab since I have seen such rave reviews on here about the results from doing so. The truck already has a bedline and the previous owner also put a dual exhaust on it, which sounds great, not sure what model it is, but I'll have pics eventually and will figure that out. After that I'll probably get to the exterior mods, ie a billet grill, chrome trim... then I'll start with some performance mods. I've got a lot of things in mind, just need to make me a big wish list of "to do items" and knock them out one-by-one. But I definitely will keep DF up-to-date with all the enhancements.
