well i floored it on bobyjones up to about 100 or so then i got off on a exit then pulled up to a red light i had my radio up real loud when it went to green i tryied to go an i just sat there any yall truck ever done this any idea what it could be??

what do you mean "shut off"?

any dash lights, engine jerking, trans clacking???

 

after i stop it just cut off no motor jumpin or nothing the only time the tran clinks is whenim at wot and it changes.. i didin even know it cut off i had my radio up but i put in n an it cranked right up the only other thing it has done kinda like that is when stopin at another redlight the rpms drop an the motor jumped lilbit but then it stoped other then that it runs good

 

The Bobby Jones, Bud, you in Augusta? My old stomping grounds! I lived in Lincolnton for a few years after college from about 1991-1995 then I moved to south Ga. for a job. Man, I really miss it up there, lived right on Clarks Hill. Ain't been there since '98 and it was growing so fast, hell I remember when Washington Rd. was only two lane through Evans & Martinez and there were only houses on the sides of the road there. I bet I'd not even recognize it now...

 

Wow, was on Bobby Jones yesterday, small world!!! Don't normally go a 100 on it right now, especially with construction, but hey, them Georgia cops don't like my out of state plates to much either...

 

yea im in augusta you probwouldin recognize it startin to kinda look like ATL... Washington Rd is the spot where everybody goes to hang out now you hit it on the weekend there ppl every where... but about my truck anybody think what itmight be or what imight need tocheck out on it??

 

It's been a problem reported by quite a few on here. Because it happens so rarely, I don't recall anyone as having solved it. You can do a search here for "stalling" and I'm sure you'll get some hits.

 

hey, my mom told me about this website, and thought maybe yall could help.

i was reading what the guy wrote about his truck shutting off and im having the same problem. ive actually had alot of the same problems with this truck.

first it was my radio. whenever i would drive for more than 5 min it would just shut off..so i would have to turnthe radi off and onfor it to come back on, finally they switched out the radio and replaced the whole unit. Then my radio just started freezing. Weird..but it would be stuck on the same station and all i could change was the volume.

anyways about my truck shutting off..it started when i had warranty. whenever i was making a slight turn or just getting ready to turn the wheel, my truck would just shut off..actually it was more like my truck stayed on, just the gas didnt work and my power steering went out. my check engine light didnt even come on. it happened about 5 times since the summer and now i dont have warranty. I took it back everytime it would do this, but when the guys would go to look at it at the shop, nothing ever came up there was anythign wrong. they said my engine comp never registered anything even happened..

 

mine's shut off twice, just like you explained it...i dont think it's anything to worry about...both times it did it i was stopped, it started right back up...put ur key in the ignition and turn it on-off 3 times without starting it, see if a code comes up...i wouldnt worry about it...pizzle.

 

That has happened to me if I was really into it, then just lifted the throttle. If I let out easy, it never happens.
