Default 99 Engine swap

Hey guys, new to this site and forum, would appreciate some advice. I deploy to Iraq here in a couple months, but am looking to do an engine swap once I come home. I have a 99 Ram 1500 with the 318. I want the Magnum V10. How much am I looking at for conversions or will it be a direct drop in? Or is it just a helluva lot easier to just buy another truck with the V10 and just rebuild the engine and tranny? Thanks

Well, the way I'm looking at it, when I come back from the sandbox, I'll have the money for either the engine swap or buying the V10 ram, but not rebuilding the engine. I've priced out a rebuilt V10 and the price isn't bad, just wondering the amount of conversions motormount movement and all that or is it a direct drop in?

I'd throw a stroked out 360 magnum (408) in where the 318 used to sit. Then take it out for a spin and eat lesser vehicles....
