With all the ho loss at the rear wheels, I was wondreing if there was a torque converter mod we have for our trucks. And if there is one, will it void the warranty?

I admit I didn't search - is there an in-depth torque converter thread out there?

I'd like to know what our approx. stall speed is stock and what others have tried with aftermarket units.

stall speed on our trucks is about 2100....i tested it on my truck like 2 yrs ago lol....you can test it pretty simply...........push the brake and slowly give it some gas but dont let the tires break loose....it should stop right around 2100-2300 RPM, and thats your stall speed.....dont do it very much cause it'll burn up the fluid

I know that KRC Performance routinely does Torque Converter upgrades on Hemi's. It's actually the place where I saw the before and after dyno test data on an '05 2wd, that they had in there for major upgrades. When I was shocked to see how much HP we lose before it gets to the rear wheels, I started to inquire why, and before I had two words out of my mouth, three guys replied in unison "Torque Converter"...
I was originally planning a KRC 210 Cam, springs, retainers, damper upgrade next (it's the next logincal step after I did headers in August) then doing the torque converter and being done with it. But now I'm thinking CTD 4x4 when the '09s come out and don't really want to put that kinda money into my truck, hell I'm gonna lose my *** as it is on 8k worth of mods I've already done...

Do the converter. I just did mine with one from Moe's. Best mod I have done. It will rip 1st. I had trouble power braking with stock set up. I now have a Auburn LSD with 4.56's with a Transgo shift kit and a Phenix TC all from Moes. Man what a night and day difference. A totally different truck. Perfect city truck but not so much the highway. I would go for the 4.10's if on the highway alot.
