Default Cold Air Intake?

Looking to add a cold air intake to my 08 Dodge Ram with 5.7L Hemi. I do not know anything about these so I need your help.

Things to consider:
1. Best ones to buy in terms of increased HP, torque, gas mileage etc.? What are the gains? What will I see?
2. Cost?
3. Simplicity of installation? What is involved?
4. Don't want any one that produces a lot of "noise" or "whine/hiss".
5. Obviously, no damage to engine in any way.
6. Best place to purchase?

I want something that doesn't cost an arm and a leg yet gives a noticeable increase in performance. And, nice low "growl" would be OK but no loud noise/whine/hiss.

Thanks for the help.

i have had the cheapo ebay intake and now i have the volant intake
EBAY- Pros: gained like 1 mpg at the most, was under $100 Cons:not much power gains and was loud and whistled.
VOLANT-Pros: excellent fit, looks real nice, 20 minute easy installation, no loud noises ( except at start up you hear the intitial rush of air but not that loud) gained a few mpgs and a noticeable power increase ( wasnt like a real intense increase but it has more throttle response) gave my exhaust a real throaty sound ( i have flowmaster 40 series duals) Cons: was over $200 for me but usually around $300 ( i got it on sale for $225 shipped from www.performancecenter.com, they had one left in stock and lowered the price)

Thanks all for help, in the end I have decided to buy a Vararam Hemi Under Glass. Looks to be the most effective in boosting HP and torque and not much more $$$ than a lot of the other CAI's. Thanks again, I'll let you know how I like it in a couple of weeks.

OK, first impressions. Installed a few hours ago and it really does seem to improve performance, more get up and go. Will know more when I drive it for a while.

No directions in the box..............how are you supposed to clean the air filter? Can anyone that has one enlighten me?
