Default engine stall

alright I started up my truck and let it warm up for about 10 mins and I started driving, about a mile down the road I got to a red light and when I stopped for the red light the RPM's went down to about 500 or 600 (which is what it usually does when I come to a full stop), then they dropped all the way to 0. So I put it in park, turned the key towards me to kill the power in the truck and then restarted it and it worked fine after that? It was about 23 degrees outside withabout a 10-15 degree wind chillso I'm not sure if the temperature played a role in the engine stalling? Does anyone know a reason for why this may have happend?

Thanks

Default RE: engine stall

Lots of things can cause a stall when stopping and going down to an idle. But at the age of your truck, I'm gonna assume that the throttle body has never been cleaned, or if so, not in a while. I know it's fixed stalling issues for many others, so I'd start there. Besides, if it's not the issue, only good things can come from cleaning it anyway...
