Default How much can my new truck take.

I'm getting a 2008 Ram 1500 5.7 QC. This will be my first truck. I've had mostly high performance vehicles, 70 Chevelle SS, FORD SHO, GMC Typhoon, Buick GN, etc...

I don't plan on getting airborn, but how careful do I need to be if I want to jump a curb into a driveway or over a parking lot wheel stop or just some basic hooliganism....

Are current model trucks REAL tough?????

only ford's are built tough....atleast that's what their commercials claim.
i'd get an old 70's/80's truck if i wanted to beat the hell out of it. something less than $2k

I do that kinda thing without worrying too much, hell this truck is far enough off the ground stock that I can climb up under it all the way across, and I'm a big guy. Some 8-10" tall curb is nothing. [8D]

Jumping curbs will affect the wheel alignment on ANY vehicle. I step over curbs and medians often. I ride off the road sometimes to go around a left-turner, but I don't do it very fast -- you never know what hidden in the grass. Matter of degree, I guess.

Hell ya they're tough. but common sense is to try and avoid it because of your allignment. but if u wanna take it off road go for it. if you hit a good sized curb dont worry too much. but ya just use commn sense ...it can take a hell of a lot more than any sports car..but its not indestructable.
