These ball joints on the new rams are "permanently greased" well...my passenger front tire's lower ball joint went bad and i had to replace it. from what i hear theres been a recall on some durangos because of the ball joints going bad and the wheels flyin off. mine just squeaked a lot..it didnt cause any damage..but it was a long repair ill tell ya that. any one else had problems...just curious. and does anyone know what i can do to the ball joints i do have to keep em good...remember i cant grease em....theyre permanently greased systems.

 

should have gotten moog ball joints, life time warranty and greasable. other wise your just waiting till they go bad again if they do. nothing to grease etc... i just did an inner and outer tie rod. had to customize my 1 1/2 inch adjustable to make it bigger... lots of fun

 

Ok, so let me ask a dumb question........I bought my '05 in October and every since I have had it, the right front tire area squeaks while riding down the road. Now I can only hear it at speeds lower than 30mph, but I am sure that it is doing it all of the time. Does this sound like a ball-joint issue?

 

i had all sorts of problems on my 02 ram with the front end....no problems on my 04 so far.........kebo, lift up the front of your truck and then push in on the top of the tire and see how much free play there is....if you hear like a "popping" sound, then ball joint is prolly bad

 

no prob here on my 04 with ball joints but had a bad tie rod and only 24000 miles on the truck

 

i had a ball joint and both tie rod ends go out on my 06, at about 11k, they said they have seen a lot of tie rod ends go out, replaced em with new ones and havent had any problems since.

 

you ***** can go bad if ridden too hard
