Default Fan Switch

Hey guys, I'm a 2nd Gen owner, but my Dad just got a 2002 Ram. His fan control switch only works in the high position. Have any of you ever had this problem? Any help much appreciated!

Probably some open resistors in the switch/blower motor. Had this problem many years ago. I don't even remember which car it was. Couldn't afford to get it fixed... had to live with it. If he bought it from a dealer, he may be able to get a deal on the repair. If not, oops.
